The Service Plumber, a safety sensitive position, will apply their technical skills, knowledge and communication skills in performing diagnostic, service, and installation of plumbing in residential and light commercial environments and ensures that work is performed in accordance with relevant codes. Responsibilities include correctly diagnosing plumbing concern, assemble, install, or repair pipes, fittings, or fixtures of heating, water, or drainage systems in accordance with plumbing code specifications. Properly communicate and write out options for customers.

Service Plumber Responsibilities
  • Perform residential and light commercial service calls to diagnose and resolve plumbing issues
  • Identifies potential problems to prevent premature and/or unexpected breakdowns/callbacks
  • Maintains and repairs plumbing systems carrying water, sewage, natural gas and other plumbing piping systems
  • Inspects high water pressure plumbing systems to find any concerns
  • Repairs or replaces plumbing fixtures, water heaters, water treatment, sewer systems and plumbing pipe systems
  • Knowledge of local governmental and UPC rules, details and procedure
  • Knowledge and ability to measure, cut, and install all types of plumbing/gas pipe and pipe fittings properly by UPC
  • Installs pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, water heaters or fixtures using hand or power tools properly
  • Maintain and process accurate documentation of service calls and time management
  • Submit all complete paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
  • Maintain properly clean and stocked service vehicle
  • Attend weekly departmental meetings
  • Participate in periodic inventory and truck inspections
  • Maintain tools and machinery in good condition and use all tools in a safety conscious manner
  • Explains each service recommended to the customer before any maintenance or repair is completed and ensures complete customer satisfaction
  • Explains club membership agreements to every client, maintains a 25% club membership conversion rate on repair clients
  • Retains 90% of membership clients and maintains an 85% appointment conversion ratio in the home
  • Documents price guide task codes on all invoices for each diagnostic, repair, and installation performed
  • Documents part orders, corresponding job numbers and parts used on each job and reports them at end of each job
  • Works as a team member with dispatch, call takers, installers other team members of the company properly
  • Uses our PO process properly for any materials requested
  • Turns in all parts receipts/packing slips daily and has corresponding job numbers written on them
  • Provide pricing to the customer for approval prior to performing any work
  • Maximizes lead opportunities based on company’s business plan
  • Participate in all company sponsored training classes

These are the required knowledge that you must know in order to apply
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of verifiable plumbing experience in a residential service and maintenance operation
  • Knowledge of local and UPC plumbing codes
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Must be ethical and honest at all times
